The age limit are very important for chat sites. Especially for chat sites with camera and websites like Omegle. Omegle is one of the most known random chat site with camera and text feature. However there are many criminal incidents happened on the site before. So the age limit is very important. Omegle is allowing people who are older than 18 years old to join the site. If your age is between 13-18 years old, the website is asking you get a parental permission to join. So the age limit is 13 for the site. If you are younger than 13, you are not allowed to join the site at all.
However since the website can not get moderated very well by the staff, we recommend you to be 18 years old at the least for talking on the site. The past Omegle arrests has proven that, it’s not very easy to secure children privacy on video chat sites. Many children has been harassed by people who has older age than them. They are recording videos or they are streaming unwanted stuffs from their camera. If you would like to block the site at all for security of your children, you can click here to read our page about that.
Age Limit for Site Features
If your child is younger than 18 years old, we don’t recommend Omegle for your child. However if/she wants it really bad, you can allow your child to use text chat only. Because there are many unwanted things on video chat platform of the site. However if your children still want to use the site, you will need to block it from the computer.
If you are older than 18 years old and want to use the website safely, you can chat on video chat but you should worry about people who wants to record you. You can click here to read our page for how to prevent from it. If you are already recorded you can read our what to do guideline.
