Chinese Messenger Companies Accused for Disrespect Privacy Terms



There are many complaints and concerns about Chinese messenger applications. It is mainly because those apps are not very secure to use. Some Android and Apple users made complaints about Chinese applications. Users complaints are generally about Chinese applications are sharing user datas with other companies due to advertising issues.

After Facebook’s fail at senate, new complaints have started to appear on application stores. Also the recent issue of Telegram with Russian government is a good proof that there will be lots of privacy and term issues between messenger companies, users and government of the countries. Let’s see who will win this war but we are sure that privacy violators will not get any profit.

Accusations by Users About Privacy

There are some Chinese users who mentions about this fraud on those applications. You find can some privacy complaints in App Store and Google Play Store. We have investigated that general concern of people is that app companies are selling their personal data to other Chinese companies for advertisement. A user also mentioned that an app company doesn’t sell information of people who are leaving outside of the country but in China. However there are not any proof of that, users can provide those infos with hypothesis.

China government has also suspended many applications and websites recently due to those privacy issues. Many users can’t use Facebook, WhatsApp and even Google in China. This is because they are big companies that can’t be controlled by Chinese government at all.

China has always created alternatives within country for those applications and websites they blocked. RenRen is an alternative of Facebook and also Omegle. They have created it for replacing those websites.

Wechat is a Chinese company which can also easily controlled by Chinese government. There are also many others but it is not hard to understand that WeChat is an exact Chinese copy of WhatsApp.

And China’s Google is Baidu…

      We don’t think that there is a problem with WeChat about privacy of course. They are exactly Chinese version of WhatsApp and became a world-wide brand. They do important business with European countries. If they violate GDPR terms, they will not able to do it. No one wants to lose a market like Europe.

        Facebook was doing business with the whole world but unfortunately they sold data of their users.

        Very good point. However I don’t know If WeChat does the same. Somehow, I still think that it is not a strong possibility.
